Directions to UMBC
We are located about 10 minutes from downtown Baltimore and about 25 minutes from I-495. UMBC is easy to get to—we’re located immediately off I-95 and close to I-695.
From Baltimore and points north, proceed south on I-95 to exit 47B. Take Route 166 toward Catonsville and then follow signs to the campus and visual and performing arts venues.
From I-695, exit at Wilkens Avenue and continue one-half mile south to the entrance of UMBC at the intersection of Wilkens Avenue and Hilltop Road. Follow signs to visual and performing arts venues.
From Washington and points south, proceed north on I-95 to Exit 47B. Take Route 166 toward Catonsville and then follow signs to the campus and visual and performing arts venues.
The road that encircles the main part of campus is Hilltop Circle.
- Performing Arts and Humanities Building (PAHB) venues include the Earl and Darielle Linehan Concert Hall, Proscenium Theatre, Black Box Theatre, Dance Cube, amd the Music Box
- Albin O. Kuhn Library Gallery is located in the Albin O. Kuhn Library
- Center for Art Design and Visual Culture (CADVC) is located in the Fine Arts Building
For evening and weekend events, you may park for free in Lot 8. Proceed from either direction around Hilltop Circle until you reach Hilltop Road, and then take Hilltop Road toward the center of campus. Take an immediate left into Lot 8 and park.
For the Albin O. Kuhn Library Gallery, pay and display visitor parking is available on the top floor of the Walker Avenue Garage for $2.00 per hour and payable by MasterCard, Visa or exact currency (no change provided.) To reach the Walker Avenue Garage, circle around Hilltop Circle from either direction until you arrive at Walker Avenue. Take Walker Avenue toward the center of campus. The garage will be on your right, with visitor parking on the top deck.
Visitor parking is also available at metered garages located at Administration Drive, The Commons Drive and Walker Avenue. Meters are enforced Monday through Friday for hours posted. Except for meters, all other campus roadways and lots require UMBC permits Monday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Permits are enforced year round. Fees are not enforced on University observed holidays.
