The Voyager Ensemble (David Yang, Airi Yoshioka, co-directors) present much beloved French masterpieces as well as Baltimore premiere of Baltimore Sketches by eminent French composer Nicolas Bacri. Solenne Païdassi, violin, and Tristan Cornut, cello, hail from France for this French-inspired concert, which features Dutilleux’s String Quartet “Ainsi la nuit” (“Thus the Night”) — one of the most challenging, intricate, and dynamic works written for the medium.

The complete program features:

  • Ravel — Duo
  • Dutilleux — String Quartet “Ainsi la nuit”
  • Debussy — String Quartet
  • Nicolas Bacri — Baltimore Sketches (Baltimore premiere)

Tickets: $15 general admission, $10 seniors, $5 students, free for UMBC Music majors and Music faculty/staff, available online (spring 2018) or at the box office one hour before the performance.

UMBC is located about 10 minutes south of the Inner Harbor along I-95. For this event, free visitor parking is available in Lot 8, directly adjacent to the Performing Arts and Humanities Building, where Linehan Concert Hall is located — please see here for additional information.
