A mini-festival on its own within Festival Baltimore‘s lineup, a two-day complete Paul Hindemith viola sonatas event by Amadi Azikiwe (viola, USA) and Inesa Gegprifty (piano, Albania) will forever change your perspective on this composer. Let’s be honest — we are all a bit afraid of Hindemith (1895–1963). But witnessing his amazing journey through the genres of solo viola and viola and piano sonatas will definitely make you feel as if you now know Hindemith in person.
The first concert of this set is on Tuesday, June 18. Both performances are presented together with brief lectures.
The program features:
Sonata Op. 31, No. 4
Sonata 1939 (with piano)
Tickets are $0–25, available through Festival Baltimore here.
